Pakistan’s rice exports to China crossed $225.25 million in the first quarter of the year 2022. According to the General Administration of the Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC), the sales of broken rice increased up to 40.27% as compared to last year.
Although the COVID-19 Pandemic had largely affected the bilateral trade between China and Pakistan in the previous years, the recent exports have significantly increased the mutual trade between the two countries. Moreover, China has imported more than 601,574.052 tons of different varieties of rice this year from Pakistan. The rice exports to china increased up to 12.45% by volume as in the last year only 534,946.42 tons were exported.
Furthermore, the sales manager of Hefei Meyer Optoelectronic Technology International, Michael Gao while expressing himself said that Chinese technology has significantly contributed to the quality and quantity of rice production in Pakistan.

“To date, nearly 1,000 Meyer color sorters are in operation in Pakistan. Our sales volume has been rising every year”
Additionally, Michael Gao also mentioned that almost all major Pakistani rice exporters to China are satisfied to incorporate Chinese machinery in their agricultural systems.

He further added, “We have authorized agents in Pakistan; they have a professional service team. Meanwhile, the machine can be connected by WIFI, and we offer remote service, we can even check problems on computers in China”
Moving on, Pakistani enterprises also appreciated the use of Chinese technology as it has resulted in the best quality raw rice. Moreover, the country is considering installing the latest and most advanced Chinese milling machines for the best output recoveries. Likewise, 53 Pakistani rice brands are on the approval list of the General Administration of Customs P.R.C.
