Prime Minister Imran Khan warmly welcomed the British Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton at PM House for a luncheon organized on Tuesday. A grand reception was given to the royal couple upon their arrival at PM House, including the red carpets rolled out at PM House for the duke and duchess of Cambridge. Prime Minister Imran Khan shares an old acquaintance with the royal couple. Prince William’s late mother Princess Diana was friends with Khan’s former wife Jemima Khan, while Prince William as a child played cricket with Imran Khan.
According to social media users, the meeting of Prince William and Prime Minister Imran Khan rekindled the fond memories of Princess Diana’s visit to Pakistan and her friendly interactions with PM Khan and Jemima Goldsmith.

Prime Minister Imran Khan exchanged greetings with the royal couple at the PM House, escorted them to his office, where the dignitaries discussed various issues in their meeting.

Earlier, the couple met President Arif Alvi and First Lady at President House Islamabad. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his wife accompanied the couple at the President House. President Alvi and Prince William discussed the issues of bilateral ties in the meeting.

Earlier in the day, the pair visited a government girl’s high school in Islamabad signaling their support for women education in Pakistan. They also visited a Kindergarten section of the school where the couple spent time with the kids and discussed the prospect of education in Pakistan with the school administration.

In a video shared by a British journalist, the Duke is heard greeting the children with ‘Assalamo Alaikum‘. The couple is seen seated beside children, engaging with them in different activities. The video suggests the couple reached the classroom during the Mathematics lesson, the couple helped the children solve some questions. According to reports, Kate Middleton and Prince William spent roughly half-hour at the public school, which has an estimated 1000 students from Kindergarten to grade 12.
The couple, under heavy security, was taken to visit conservationist at the Margalla Hills National Park at Trail 5 in the Himalayan foothills outside Islamabad where the couple graced an event about the environment protection. The pictures of the couple taking a walk on Trail 5 of Margalla Hills are heavily circulating the social media.

Later in the day, they were taken to meet President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan. In the evening the couple is expected to attend an event at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad.
