Pakistan population will be 36 crore in 2050: UN

Why population is a threat to Pakistan? Karachi, the most populated city, is facing governance crisis. From floodings to housing, polution and traffic crises, the largest city is an example of population bomb.

A 56% rise in Pakistan’s population to 366 million people is predicted by 2050. ‘The World Population Prospects for 2022’ from the United Nations was the source of this information. Also, the survey predicted that the global population will reach 8 billion by the end of 2022, which is 7.7 billion now.

In 2080, the world’s population will reach 10.4 billion, despite a one-percent decline in overall population increase. Previously, the apex was predicted to be reached in the late 21st century.

Pakistan is also cited as a major contributor to population growth in the report. In terms of population, the country had 114 million people in 1990, making it the seventh most populous country on the planet.
