Pakistan ruled by Imran Khan’s Mafia: Marriyum Aurangzeb

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the PML-N would have formed the government if the Results Transmission System of the ECP was working adequately. She further accused Prime Minister Imran Khan for holding the parliament, opposition, media and economy hostage under his rule.

Marriyum Aurangzeb, spokesperson of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said on Friday, that her party would have formed the government if the Results Transmission System (RTS) of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had not failed.

Addressing the media, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Pakistan is being ruled by a “mafia” led by Imran Khan, which has held the economy, businesses, parliament, media and opposition hostage under his rule.

Addressing Prime Minister Imran Khan, Marriyum said that he would get threats in response of threats.

Worst Political Victimization in History

The PML-N spokesperson said that despite carrying out the “worst political victimization in the history of the country”, the unlawful detentions, extensive investigations, prolonged imprisonments and numerous court appearances could not prove a single penny worth of corruption against PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and other PML-N leaders.

She said, “Even after the passage of six months, no corruption reference could be filed against Shahbaz Sharif.” Marriyum added that Shahbaz Sharif’s entire business was a family-run entity and everyone related to the business was being arrested. The PML-N spokesperson question as to why the businesses belonging to the Sharif family were being shut down.

The PML-N spokesperson said that the Sharif family has always fulfilled all responsibilities underscored by the SECP and the FBR

She said, “Are they lesser Pakistanis as compared to others?” She added that more than 10,000 people previously employed by the Sharif family businesses were being denied employment opportunities.

Marriyum added that the PML-N President does not hold any official positions in the companies referenced by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). She said, ‘He does not own any share in these businesses, nor has he ever taken any dividends from their profits.”

Marriyum further added, “These businesses are private companies managed by the Sharif family, and they have been operating since the 1980s.” The PML-N spokesperson said that the Sharif family has always fulfilled all responsibilities underscored by the SECP and the FBR.

Media Trial is Public Harassment

Marriyum said, “This unending media trial of the Sharif family is a gross case of public harassment and the government institutions are maligning the family without any substantial evidence. This cannot be allowed to continue.”

The PML-N spokesperson urged the media to avoid air propagandist narratives without obtaining the stance of the PML-N. Marriyum claimed that the accountability watchdog has once again shifted its attention on the PML-N, and demanded the Chairman NAB, Justice (R) Javed Iqbal to take notice of the activities of the NAB personnel.

The PML-N spokesperson also urge the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to take notice of the “vicious sabotage” of NAB’s proceedings against the private businesses owned by the Sharif family. She accused the NAB officials of “harassing and torturing” the business partners of the Sharif family, an appealed to the CJP to take action the NAB officials whose “attitude” had forced the business partners to become approvers against PML-N leaders and Sharif family members.

Marriyum wondered why the accountability watchdog has failed to present evidence against the PML-N leaders during court proceedings rather than touting evidence during press conferences. The PML-N spokesperson also commented on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s remarks after the Supreme Court verdict on the General Bajwa extension case, and observed that the Premier was reflecting his anger after being embarrassed.

She said, “The Supreme Court has highlighted the government’s incompetence on multiple occasions. As is typical of his nature, Prime Minister Imran is blaming others for his mistakes. Pakistan has become unsafe due to his lies and ineptitude.”
