Pakistan Twitter space erupted in anger after the Indian Parliament presented a move to annul Article 370, revoking Jammu Kashmir’s special status and converting it into a state union. While India hails the decision, Pakistani celebrities and observers continue to express their wrath towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian military.

Twitter erupted with fierce remarks and comments of disapproval from millions of Pakistani users including scores of Pakistani celebrities. Twitter became a platform to vent out frustration and anger for the thousands of Pakistanis and Indians, who extensively rebutted the Indian government to include Kashmir as part of India, against the will of Kashmiris.

The entire Pakistani celebrities including Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan, Faysal Qureshi, Feroze Khan, Shaan, Veena Malik, and Hamza Ali Abbasi condemned PM Modi’s regressive act to sabotage the seven decades-old freedom movement of Kashmiris. In their separate messages they expressed their solidarity with the Kashmiris, stating that they have and will continue to support the Kashmir cause. Others moaned that India with its decision to coerce Kashmiris to embrace Indian nationality slapped its claims of being the world’s biggest secular democracy.
Pakistani netizens hailed the collective response of Indian celebrities on social media asserting that they have the potential to raise and fight for the Kashmir issue globally.
Many even raised their voice against the continued alienation of Kashmir valley from the rest of the world following the siege imposed since the past few days.
Social media activist Hamza Ali Abbasi encouraged fellow celebrities to collectively raise their voice against Indian atrocities in Kashmir on social media.
“#OperationKashmir Heartbreaking to see most of the stuff some Indians are posting about Kashmiris under this hashtag! The hateful mocking, the humiliating jokes! Shame on all of U who r saying such things. The more u oppress, the more closer Kashmir is getting to freedom Insha Allah,” wrote Hamza Ali Abbasi on Twitter.
Singer-cum-actor Farhan Saeed also demanded the resolution of Kashmir through peace and dialogue and urged the Indian government to respect their rights of self-determination.
“The largest democracy of the world is making the greatest mockery of democracy. Kashmir stay strong. Hope For peace in the valley someday soon,” wrote Fakhr-e-Alam.

Not only Pakistani entertainers, but Pakistani journalists in huge numbers rallied in support of the Kashmir cause. Pakistani netizens hailed the collective response of Indian celebrities on social media asserting that they have the potential to raise and fight for the Kashmir issue globally.
