After already defeating Canada in their opener by seven wickets, Group A leaders USA now have a strong chance of advancing to the Super 8s round. The top two teams from each of the four groups move on to the last eight of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Team is in shambles. With their next match scheduled against a much stronger team, India, Pakistan really needs to pull up their game to remain alive in the tournament.
Fans, however, have violently criticized the team for their poor performance against an associated team like USA.
USA captain Monank Patel, who was named the official player of the match, praised the team’s performance, calling the victory a “big achievement.” “Beating Pakistan, and playing for the first time, the way we played today, I’m really proud of the boys,” he said.
