Pakistan will face India in the final of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). Team Pakistan defeated West Indies by 20 runs in the first semi-final of the WCL to qualify for the tournament’s final.
Whereas, India defeated Australia in the second semi-final of the WCL to qualify for the final of the event. Pakistan has played exceptionally well throughout the tournament. Green shirts set the target of 199 runs for West Indies. Pakistani bowlers showed a brilliant display of game helping the team reach the final of WCL.
Sohail Khan was the best performer, claiming four wickets in the match while restricting the West Indian team to 178 runs. West Indies had a slow start as they were only able to score seven runs in the first four overs. Later in the fifth over, the team gained momentum after Chris Gayle started hitting boundaries. However, he was soon removed by Sohail Khan for 26 runs.

Pakistan too had a shaky start as Pakistan lost its three batters- Sharjeel Khan, Sohaib Maqsood, and Shoaib Malik lost their wickets without scoring any valuable runs. Later on, Younus Khan and Kamran Akmal built a partnership. Then, Aamer Yamin and Sohail Tanvir also built a partnership giving momentum and stability in the innings of Pakistan. Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi also could not score runs and went out on duck.
Pakistan batsman Younis was dismissed by Fidel Edwards after scoring 65 runs. But Pakistan kept scoring runs as Aamer Yahim and Sohail Tanvir made a 61-run partnership. Yahim scored 37 runs on 17 balls while Tanvir scored 33 runs on 17 balls. West Indies bowler Edwards took 3 wickets, Benn took 2 wickets, and Taylor and Smith each took 1 wicket.
India’s legendary players (India Champions) crushed Australia’s legends (Australia Champions) by a massive 86 runs in the WCL 2024 semi-final played on Friday at Northampton. Hence, they will be playing Pakistan in the final of the tournament.
