Pakistan will broadcast live Taraweeh in 50 countries

President Dr. Arif Alvi has asked the Ministry of Information to broadcast live Taraweeh from PTV so that people can pray at home.

The President directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to telecast Taraweeh Live on PTV as well as accord effective coverage to the health guidelines regarding COVID-19. The meeting advised the people to maintain social distancing and offer Taraweeh prayers at their homes.

PTV beams its transmission from Islamabad, Pakistan, and is viewed in over 50 countries worldwide, covering the continents of Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Australia. The live Taraweeh will be broadcasted in 50 countries.

A meeting to discuss the implementation of recently agreed 20-points with Ulema was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by President Dr. Arif Alvi. The meeting emphasized that the Provincial Governments, with cooperation of Ulema and elected representatives, should ensure the implementation of 20-points in letter and spirit at all district, tehsil and village levels.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Interior, Brig (Retd) Ijaz Ahmad Shah, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri, SAPM on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology, Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Yousaf Naseem Khokhar and Federal Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

PTV will broadcast Taraweeh live from first Ramazan.

Death toll rises to 224 as coronavirus infects 10,513 people across Pakistan

Pakistan on Thursday has reported 224 deaths from novel coronavirus while the total number of cases has surged to 10,513

According to details, 4590 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Punjab, 3373 in Sindh, 1453 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 552 in Balochistan, 290 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 204 in Islamabad and 51 in Azad Kashmir.

So far, 2337 patients have recovered in the country.

Four localities sealed as coronavirus cases increase in Larkana

The number of locally transmitted cases in Larkana has started increasing as the authorities have sealed four more localities in the city.

According to details, Ali Goharabad, Samiabad, Samtia road and Qafila Sarai have been sealed. Three areas had been closed due to the pandemic earlier.

Let it be known that Pakistan has reported 224 deaths from novel coronavirus while the total number of cases has surged to 10,513. So far, 2337 patients have recovered in the country.
