Pakistan wins Central Asian Volleyball Championship against Iran on Tuesday. The host defeated the defending champion by 3-1.
According to sports analysts, Pakistan has defeated a higher-ranking team to win the championship. Pakistan hosted the Central Asia Volleyball Championship after 17 years. The event was held in Lahore in the Gymnasium Hall of the Sports Board of Punjab. The home side won the first two sets by 16-25 and 17-25, respectively. Iran chipped in the third set winning it by 25-23.
Pakistan registered victory in the fourth set. The country hosted the five-nation championship after 17 years. Besides Iran and Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh also participated in the event.
Pakistanis celebrated the win in the Central Asian Volleyball Championship and congratulated the team.

“A bit late in tweeting about this, but a feel-good news from Pakistan sports arena, Pakistan has won the central Asian volleyball championship, beating higher ranked Iran 3-1 in the final,” wrote Sports Journalist Faizan Lakhani.
