Pakistani athletes shine at 2024 Chicago Marathon

Muhammad Amin Nadeem Mukaty emerged as the fastest Pakistani at the marathon, completing the race in an impressive 2:44:32.

Pakistani athletes made a notable mark at the 2024 Chicago Marathon, with several delivering impressive performances in a field of over 50,000 runners. Among them, Muhammad Amin Nadeem Mukaty stood out, leading the contingent with a remarkable finish time, further establishing Pakistan’s presence in the global marathon scene.

Muhammad Amin Mukaty Leads the Pack

Muhammad Amin Nadeem Mukaty emerged as the fastest Pakistani at the marathon, completing the race in an impressive 2:44:32. His effort placed him 761st overall, an outstanding achievement considering the scale of the event. Mukaty’s performance highlights his growing stature in long-distance running, making him a standout representative for Pakistan in international athletics.

Following Mukaty was Syed Sadiq Hussain Shah, who crossed the finish line in 2:52:24, followed closely by Nizar Nayani, a Pakistani-American, who completed the race in 2:53:26. Both athletes delivered commendable times, showcasing the depth of talent within the Pakistani running community. Another top performer, Shehryar Khursheed, broke the coveted 3-hour barrier with a time of 2:57:22, cementing his status as a top-level competitor.

Standout Performances Among Pakistani Women

Pakistani women runners also delivered noteworthy performances. Sara Tahoor Lodhi led the women’s contingent, finishing in 3:45:54. This made her the fastest Pakistani woman at the event, a significant milestone for female athletes representing Pakistan on the international stage. Following Lodhi, Semeena Khan clocked in at 3:52:47, and Nadia Rehman completed her marathon in 4:14:44. Their performances reflect the growing strength of women’s participation in endurance sports within the Pakistani community.
