Pakistani celebrities face backlash for celebrating Christmas

Pakistani celebrities, including Saboor Aly and Minal Khan, celebrated Christmas with festive gatherings, sharing moments of joy and unity. However, their participation sparked backlash from some netizens, who criticized them for celebrating a non-Islamic festival.

On December 25, people around the globe celebrated Christmas with joy and enthusiasm, and Pakistani celebrities were no exception. Known for embracing festivals from diverse cultures, many stars joined in the festive cheer.

Actress Saboor Aly hosted a Christmas dinner for her friends, with attendees including Aiman Khan, Minal Khan, Ahsan Mohsin Ikram, and Sidra Niazi. The evening was filled with warmth, laughter, and a sense of togetherness, as the celebrities dressed in their festive best to mark the occasion.

Minal Khan shared glimpses of the celebration on her social media, giving fans a peek into the joyous gathering. While many praised the stars for embracing the festive spirit, some netizens criticized them for celebrating Christmas despite being Muslims. This sparked a mix of reactions online, with some applauding the inclusivity and others condemning it on religious grounds, subjecting the celebrities to trolling and harsh comments.

This isn’t the first time Pakistani stars have drawn attention for celebrating non-Islamic festivals. In November, several celebrities enthusiastically celebrated Diwali. Personalities such as Sarwat Gilani, Fahad Mirza, Sonya Hussyn, Sanam Saeed, Mohib Mirza, Tara Mahmood, Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui, and Maheen Siddiqui shared pictures and videos of their Diwali celebrations, spreading a message of cultural harmony and unity.
