Pakistani celebrities school Irfan Pathan on ‘grace’ tweet

Pakistani celebrities thrash former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan for his ‘grace’ tweet against Pakistan. Pakistan had become the first team to qualify for the final of the T20 World Cup 2022.

Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the semifinal after smoothly chasing down the target of 153 runs. Soon after the win, Irfan Pathan posted an unwarranted tweet attacking Pakistani cricket fans. He said winning or losing is part of the game but Pakistani fans fail to show grace in victory.

“Padosiyon jeet ati jaati rehti hai, lekin GRACE apke bas ki baat nahi hai,” said Irfan Pathan in the tweet. In the later tweet, he said he did not call out the players but cricket fans in the stadium.

Pakistani fans mocked Irfan Pathan further after India lost the semifinal to England. Pakistani former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar responding to Irfan Pathan asked that he will scold people who annoyed him. Irfan Pathan said that his tweet is a reaction to some fans misbehaving with him in the stadium.

Pakistani sports journalists commented that fans from both sides should show grace. Pakistani actor Syed Jibran mocking the Indian cricket team said that winning or losing is part of the game but perhaps taking wickets is not your cup of tea.

Singer Momina Mustehsan also commented on the tweet of Irfan Pathan. “Irfan Bhai, hum “Graceless Ex” nahi hain In fact Pakistaniyo ko graceless exes bilkul pasand nahi. We are praying for your win tomorrow! InshAllah. Final mei intezar ker rahe hain, khushboo aur surma dono laga ke,” said Momina Mustehsan in a tweet.

She again tweeted after India got defeated in the semifinal. “Sorry Irfan bhai, our prayers didn’t get answered We’ll miss playing you guys in the final but we’ll try our best to win – just like in the movie Lagaan. Aap bhi humare leay khush ho jaana please. Jeetain ya haarain, we’ll keep grace at the center InshAllah,” she again tweeted.
