Video of Pakistani dignitaries dancing and partying on the birthday celebrations of the British King Charles at the British High Commission has met with online vitriol.
The video shared the British High Commissioner Jane Marriott on X showed several Pakistani politicians and dignitaries dancing and enjoying the 76th birthday celebrations.
“An epic night! Celebrating His Majesty The King’s 76th Birthday in Islamabad. Thank you to all our guests for making it so special!,” wrote Jane Marriott while sharing the video on her X account.
Dressed in a blue dress, Jane Marriott was seen interacting with the Pakistani guests at the party. She danced with the singers invited to the party and posed for pictures with them.
PMLN’s Minister Ahsan Iqbal also attended the party. Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor also attended the party. Singer Faris Shafi was also in the party.
The video received sour comments from the users on X. One of the users commenting on the video said: “Jane what VPN are you using as X is banned in Pakistan officially so are you disobeying the laws of the land as an ambassador in Pakistan or are you exempt from every law too?”
“Never ever beating the ‘Pakistan was created to protect imperialist interests’ allegation,” wrote another X user.
“This reeks of colonialism so much I was sure I’d see Lord Mountbatten somewhere,” said an X user on the internet.

The majority of the social media users believe the party was attended by the elites of the society who seem to be disconnected from the masses suffering from insurmountable challenges.
Meanwhile, netizens expressed disappointment over the presence of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan in the party.
“The way they bend over backward to lick imperialist boots is so fascinating to watch. Literally slobbering at the mouth at the opportunity to show their loyalty to their masters,” said a furious X user.
