Pakistani exports to China witness jump

Here's how Pakisan's export sector performed in the month of June despite financial and economic crisis.

In June 2022, Pakistani exports to China climbed by 8 percent to US$251.30 million, up from US$232.74 million in the same month of the previous year. In addition, Pakistan’s exports to China have increased in value by US$22.38 million since May 2022. Exports to China totaled US$228.92 million in May, according to China Economic Net.

Pakistan’s exports to the United Arab Emirates, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain, Bangladesh, Thailand, Canada, and France have all grown since June 2021. During the month of June 2022, Pakistani exports were US$2,887 million, a 5.83 percent increase over the US$2,728 million exported by Pakistan in the same month of June 2021.

Imports from China fell in June compared to the same month the previous fiscal year, making it one of the top partners. Comparing June 2021 to June 2022, Pakistan’s imports from China fell by 14% to US$1625.21 million. This bodes well for Pakistan’s efforts to reduce its current account deficit.
