Pakistani father-son duo shatters Guinness World Record

Over the years, he has earned a reputation for his extraordinary physical prowess, amassing over 100 records in various categories.

In a remarkable display of agility and coordination, Pakistan’s Irfan Mehsood and his five-year-old son Sufiyan Mehsood have set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest time to climb around a person. The father-son duo achieved this feat in just 7.87 seconds on June 19, 2024, in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. This impressive accomplishment has broken the previous record held by India’s K. Gokulnath and MV Arjun Priyan, marking yet another milestone for Irfan Mehsood, a seasoned record-breaker from the tribal district of South Waziristan.

Legacy of Record-Breaking Feats

Irfan Mehsood is no stranger to the world of Guinness World Records. Over the years, he has earned a reputation for his extraordinary physical prowess, amassing over 100 records in various categories. His achievements span across disciplines such as push-ups, squats, jumping jacks, squat thrusts, step-ups, knee strikes, elbow strikes, side jumps, and high jumps. Mehsood’s relentless pursuit of excellence has seen him break records previously held by athletes from 16 different countries, including the United States, Britain, India, China, Norway, and Germany, among others.

One of his most notable feats includes surpassing the world record set by Italian weightlifter Marcello Ferri by lifting a 40-pound weight with his toe for an astounding three minutes and 20 seconds. This relentless drive to push the boundaries of human performance has earned Irfan Mehsood widespread recognition and respect in the international sports community.

Young Talent, Bright Future

The record-breaking event has not only added another feather to Irfan Mehsood’s cap but has also brought his young son, Sufiyan, into the spotlight. At just five years old, Sufiyan has become Pakistan’s youngest Guinness World Record holder, a feat that has been widely celebrated across the nation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to the young athlete, praising his exceptional talent and expressing his belief that such gifted children guarantee a bright future for Pakistan.
