Pakistani Star Sajal Aly Joins Prabhas in Bollywood’s Upcoming Period Drama

Sajal Aly, one of Pakistan's highest-paid actresses, made her Bollywood debut in 2017 with the film Mom, starring the late Sridevi.

Pakistani actress Sajal Aly is confirmed to star in a Bollywood film alongside Indian superstar Prabhas, as reported by Indian media. Previously, there was speculation about her involvement, but it’s now confirmed that she will be a part of the film titled Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi.

Prabhas, who recently appeared in the global hit Kalki 2898 AD, has a lineup of major releases and sequels ahead. The chemistry between Prabhas and Sajal Aly is highly anticipated in this upcoming movie, which is expected to be centered around India’s armed forces, given its title.

Initially, there were rumors that Mrunal Thakur, known for her role in Sita Ramam, would be the female lead. However, recent reports confirm that Sajal Aly will take on the role. Director Hanu Raghavapudi has revealed that the film will be a period action drama set in historical fiction, portraying a unique love story against the backdrop of war before India’s independence.

There are also rumors that Prabhas might portray a British soldier in the movie. Fauji, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, is set to be a high-budget production. Pre-production is progressing rapidly, with Vishal Chandrasekhar composing the soundtrack, three songs already recorded, and large sets being constructed across Hyderabad.

The project is scheduled to begin shooting in September, with an official announcement expected soon.
