Pakistani startups join Google’s first AI Academy in Asia-Pacific region

The inclusion of AdalFi and Adlytic AI in Google’s AI Academy is a testament to Pakistan’s growing influence in the global tech industry.

In a significant milestone for Pakistan’s technology ecosystem, two innovative startups—AdalFi and Adlytic AI—have been selected to participate in Google’s inaugural AI Academy for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. These companies are among 23 chosen startups from across APAC, marking a pivotal moment for Pakistani entrepreneurship as the country asserts its role in the global AI landscape.

The AI Academy

Google’s AI Academy is a pioneering program designed to empower startups by refining their AI-driven solutions and fostering business growth. Launched with a three-day interactive boot camp in Singapore, the academy gathered founders from Pakistan, Korea, Japan, India, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The academy offers participants more than 170 hours of personalized mentorship from AI and Cloud experts, along with up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits. The program provides a unique opportunity for startups to network with AI innovators from across the APAC region, unlocking pathways for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Michael Kim, Head of Google for Startups in APAC, highlighted the importance of AI in tackling global challenges. He stated, “AI has the potential to be an incredible force multiplier, and it’s amazing to see these 23 startups harnessing AI to address tough challenges—from financial services and healthcare to influencer marketing and legal solutions.”

Promoting Financial Inclusivity

One of the two selected Pakistani startups, AdalFi, is working to transform financial access through its AI-powered credit scoring system. By leveraging AI, AdalFi seeks to improve financial inclusivity for millions of individuals and small businesses in Pakistan. The startup’s technology enables banks and financial institutions to extend credit to those who might otherwise be excluded from traditional banking services.

In Pakistan, where financial access remains a significant challenge, AdalFi’s solution addresses a critical gap in the market. Its AI-driven approach could provide an alternative path for people and businesses who have struggled to secure loans due to the limitations of conventional credit scoring models.

Revolutionizing Retail Analytics

The second Pakistani startup, Adlytic AI, is making waves in the retail industry. By turning CCTV cameras into intelligent business tools, Adlytic AI enables retailers to make better use of visual and geospatial data. This cutting-edge technology provides valuable insights for retailers, helping them understand customer behavior, optimize store layouts, and improve decision-making processes.

Adlytic AI’s approach is a game-changer for retail businesses that rely on visual data but have not been able to fully utilize it. By transforming ordinary surveillance systems into advanced analytics tools, Adlytic AI empowers businesses to drive growth through smarter decision-making.

Bright Future for AI in Pakistan

The inclusion of AdalFi and Adlytic AI in Google’s AI Academy is a testament to Pakistan’s growing influence in the global tech industry, particularly in the field of AI. Both startups are not only pushing the boundaries of AI innovation within the country but are also contributing to the broader AI ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region.

Their participation highlights the potential of Pakistani entrepreneurs to lead in AI-driven solutions, showcasing the country’s capacity to tackle complex challenges through technology. As they progress through the AI Academy, AdalFi and Adlytic AI will continue to refine their solutions, positioning themselves to attract investment and growth opportunities.
