Pakistanis robbed of billions by Housing Societies: Where are authorities?

The officials of housing societies have allegedly deprived common citizens of Rs. 8 trillion through cheating and dishonesty, it was learnt.

The inner sources stated that these societies were working with different names. The societies included Jammu and Kashmir, Interior, Sawan Garden, CBR, IB, Overseas Pakistanis, Commerce, parliament, PTV, CBR Cooperative Housing Societies and others.

When contacted, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Amir Ali Ahmed stated that department would definitely take action against those who involved in this ugly business.

These Illegal housing societies have swallowed life savings of billions of rupee from the general public in the twin cities but instead of taking action, concerned departments were providing shelter to them. Sources stated that these housing societies even cheated courts and senate standing committee on the interior by submitting fake documents.

The officials of the housing societies were doing this ugly business with the connivance of Capital District administration and other departments.

Sources further revealed that country investigative departments included NAB, FIA and district administration had conducted several inquiries against these housing societies but failed to take action against them.

Sources stated that FIA had also written a letter to the district administration for conducting the forensic audit of these societies but nothing happened. The housing societies even cheated courts and senate standing committee on the interior by submitting fake documents.

These Housing Societies have taken money from the members but the possession of land has not been handed over to them. Currently, a number of affectees have deprived of plots despite deposited full amount.

They stated that NAB had also registered several cases against above-mentioned societies and also arrested some persons but the actual affectees were still at the same spot.

When contacted, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Amir Ali Ahmed stated that department would definitely take action against those who involved in this ugly business. He stated that the department would review every application.
