Parvez meets Shujaat in jail: Takes dig at Shehbaz

Following two hours and forty minutes of intense deliberations, the Chaudhry family members from Gujrat discreetly departed from Adiala Jail for Islamabad without engaging in any media interactions.

In a momentous development that could potentially reshape Pakistan’s political landscape, the leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), led by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, embarked on a  rendezvous with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi at Adiala Jail on Thursday.

This meeting assumes critical significance against the backdrop of the current political scenario, where both major political factions, PML-N and PTI, are vigorously seeking coalition partners to consolidate their positions following the recent electoral contests.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, accompanied by other PML-Q luminaries including Chaudhry Wajahat, Chaudhry Salik, Chaudhry Shafi, and Mantaha Ashraf, convened at Adiala Jail for a comprehensive discussion with Elahi.

The deliberations, held within the confines of the conference room at Adiala Jail, encompassed a wide array of subjects ranging from the prevailing political landscape in the country to personal matters. Sources suggest that the discussions also delved into the state of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s health and the facilities accessible to him while incarcerated.

Meeting lasted over two hours

Following two hours and forty minutes of intense deliberations, the Chaudhry family members from Gujrat discreetly departed from Adiala Jail for Islamabad without engaging in any media interactions. This clandestine departure adds an aura of intrigue to the closed-door negotiations that transpired.

The meeting is part of the ongoing political maneuvering among major stakeholders in the country. With both PML-N and PTI having declared their prime ministerial candidates, they are actively courting other political entities such as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), and Chaudhry Shujaat’s PML-Q to garner support for forming governments both at the federal level and in the pivotal province of Punjab.
