Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat who had received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz has said that the award is only the beginning for her. She expressed her views in her recent tweet. Mehwish Hayat took to Twitter saying “The time has come to draw a line and let go the craziness of the last month or so and move onto more serious issues.”
She went on to say, “I assure you that the Tamgha is only the beginning for me.”

She has asked people to get over her award and move on to more serious issues. The actor had earlier received a severe backlash on social media when her name was shortlisted for Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Despite, a lot of criticism she received the award from President Arif Alvi on Pakistan Day 23rd March.
I am married to my work because there is a lot that I want to do and achieve,” stated Mehwish. She added, “I am self-sufficient and can financially support myself so I need that kind of freedom.
The actress, however, defended her award and has stated that she has a lot more to achieve in her career. The actress has recently opened up about her marriage and the qualities she wishes to have in her potential husband in an interview to a local media outlet.
According to the actress, her potential husband must have no objection to her being independent. “I am married to my work because there is a lot that I want to do and achieve,” stated Mehwish. She added, “I am self-sufficient and can financially support myself so I need that kind of freedom.”
The actress stated she wishes to work in the movie that has a female superhero. “Hollywood has so many female superheroes, so I think we should have at least one,” she said.

According to media reports, Mehwish Hayat has signed a biopic on the late Benazir Bhutto. She will be playing former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in the movie. The release date of the movie has not been revealed yet.
