PIA becomes first international flight to fly directly to Fujairah

Members of the Royal Family of Fujairah and other high officials welcomed the PIA flight and Pakistani passengers. PIA CEO Arshad Malik was also on board the flight to Fujairah where he received a warm welcome on arrival.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has become the first international airline to fly directly to Fujairah, UAE. PIA flight carrying 168 passengers from Peshawar reached Fujairah on Thursday afternoon.

Members of the Royal Family of Fujairah and other high officials welcomed the PIA flight and Pakistani passengers. PIA CEO Arshad Malik was also on board the flight to Fujairah where he received a warm welcome on arrival.

The passengers were welcomed with traditional dance. PIA flights were started on the special request of the Emir of Fujairah. Under the special agreement, immigration of all the passengers will be completed within 15 minutes and special buses have been arranged which will give free access to other cities of UAE. The operations for Fujairah have been started from three cities in Pakistan. The flights are currently operating from Lahore, Peshawar, and Islamabad using the Boeing 777 aircraft.

The first flight PK243 carried 296 passengers from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore departed for Fujairah on Monday morning. The passengers of the flight were seen off by PIA District Manager Lahore Dr. Abdul Muqaddam Khan and Station Manager Ali Abbas Shah along with other officials of the airline.

Passengers expressed delight over the starting direct flights to Fujairah. They appreciated the efforts of the marketing team and CEO PIA Arshad Malik for the achievement.

PIA moving towards success?

A few weeks ago, PIA had started a direct flight to Najaf in Iraq as well. A plane carrying 91 passengers landed in Najaf earlier this month.

Earlier this month, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had become one of the best airlines in the world after achieving zero indexes in the audit conducted by European air safety watchdog SAFA (Safety Audit for Foreign-Origin Aircraft.)

SAFA conducted periodically and surprise safety checks for all the non-European Airlines at different airports in the world. PIA was under intense scrutiny by SAFA inspectors at most of the international airports following fake license scandals of the pilot in Pakistan.
