Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday called on the people, especially the youth, to stage a protest outside the red zone in Islamabad on 04 April. He added that the protests would be targeted against the foreign-funded conspiracy and horse-trading. Referring to Avari Express, the Prime Minister also called on the people of Lahore to stage a protest outside the hotel where the purported horse-trading took place. PM Khan, however, urged the people to ensure that the protests are peaceful, adding that “we [PTI] have a history of staging peaceful protests.” In a major revelation, the PM announced that he would be participating in the protest. It is pertinent to mention that the protest would take place after Isha Prayer outside the red zone. Following his address, the Prime Minister held a question and answer session with the general public.

Before taking on calls from the public, the prime minister underlined that the export sector had witnessed a boom during his time. He added that textile exports witnessed record exports which, as a result, opened up job opportunities, bringing down the unemployment rates. He added that all the major sectors had experienced growth. Talking about foreign remittances, he said that Pakistan had received record remittances during his tenure. He added that the opposition’s main concern was that if the PTI government had continued for the next year and a half, their “political shops’ ‘would have been closed down.
Answering a question regarding horse-trading, the Prime Minister said that the “Public is the best protector of any nation’s values.” He added that “Aml Bil Maroof” keeps a nation alive.” “In the United Kingdom, nobody can even think about buying people’s vote and indulging in horse-trading,” the Prime Minister added. Talking about the dissident members of his party, he said that these people had not only sold their conscience but had also gone against their “oaths”. He said that it is very important to rise up against this horse-trading; otherwise, it would become very easy for foreign powers to topple any government in the country. He added it would merely become a task of gathering Rs. 20 billion.

Responding to a suggestion by a caller of lifetime disqualification of dissident members from the National Assembly, the Prime Minister said that these people should not just be disqualified for life but also put behind bars. He said that it is very important to instill the fear of prosecution into the minds of the people to stop corruption.
