Prime Minister Imran Khan has contacted the estranged PTI leader, Jahangir Tareen on call after he left for the United Kingdom from Pakistan. Local media outlet quoted Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
According to Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen is unwell. “The prime minister was informed that Jahangir Tareen was unwell,” Qureshi said. Tareen has traveled to the United Kingdom on air ambulance from Pakistan for his medical check-up. PM Imran Khan contacted Jehangir Tareen to enquire about his health.

PM Khan mending old relations?
On the other hand, speculations are rife that PM Imran Khan has been making attempts to contact and mend relations with Jahangir Tareen that become sour with revelations in the Sugar Inquiry Commission report in 2020. Following year, a group of Jahangir Tareen loyalists was formed in PTI. Since the inquiry report and disqualification of Jahangir Tareen, both the leaders have been in separation and not on talking terms.
In one of his interviews, PM Imran Khan had talked about his bonding and close relations with Jahangir Tareen but reiterated that he stands for justice.
Now, media reports claim that PM Imran Khan had tried to contact Jahangir Tareen several times but he refused to talk to him. It is further said that PTI wants to ropes in Jahangir Tareen for Punjab local body elections.
However, no such confirmed reports have come from PTI leadership and Jahangir Tareen.
Some say that the opposition wants Jahangir Tareen to join them in a bid to give a strong blow to PM Imran Khan to topple his government.

The Opposition is gearing up for an intense political battle against the government with plans to bring a no-trust move. It approached government alliances and estranged PTI members for support, including Jahangir Tareen Group.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has been in contact with Jahangir Tareen and will likely hold an in-person meeting with him.
However, it appears that the PTI leader Jahangir Tareen will not move against the government any time soon. In fact, Jahangir Tareen does not want to part ways with PTI at all.
Senior journalist Rana Azeem revealed Jahangir Tareen’s firm stance during a talk show for a private news channel. Rana Azeem said he talked to Jahangir Tareen and also talked to very close acquaintances of his as well.
