Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday had food with the residents of a shelter home (Panaah Gah) at Peshawar Mor in Islamabad.
PM Imran had made a visit to the shelter home to inspect the quality of service offered to the residents. The images of him sharing food with the homeless went viral on social media yesterday.

The premier, on his visit, interacted with the people and discussed their problems and the quality of service offered at shelter homes. As he was talking to the residents of the shelter home, he was served with food along with the residents of the home.
PM Khan pays monthly visits to shelter homes – a key social welfare initiative of PTI-led government – to check the quality of service offered to the residents.

In September, he visited the Tarlai Panah Gah in Islamabad. His videos of interacting with the people and enquiring about the facilities at the shelter home gained traction on social media.

PM Imran warmly greeted the people at the shelter home, the majority of whom were daily wage laborers, who take refuge in Panah Gaahs from the freezing temperatures in Islamabad.

In his interaction with the laborers, he enquired about their work conditions and employment opportunities, besides asking about the services and food provided to them at the shelter home.

Shelter Homes in Islamabad and Peshawar were built upon his orders last winter. Last year, PM Imran had instructed the city administration to make arrangements to provide shelter to homeless people and daily wage laborers spending winter nights by the roadside in extremely low temperatures.
He has repeatedly urged the management of the shelter homes to serve the residents of shelter homes with dignity.
