PM Khan’s speech wins hearts: Celebs endorse on Twitter

Pakistani celebrities have come out in support of Prime Minister Imran Khan after he delivered a stern message to the hardcore religious factions protesting in the aftermath of the Asia Bibi’s case verdict. The Supreme Court on Wednesday vindicated Christian lady Asia Bibi in the blasphemy case continued for nine years.

Soon after the release of the judgement the protestors from religious parties took to the streets of the major cities of Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore and halted the working day. The protests ensued confusion and major business centres, offices and markets were shut down in the big cities as people quickly fled to home.

In the latter part of the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the nation in a short but a decisive speech. Khan in his speech asserted the authority of state, reiterated the support of the government for Supreme judiciary of the country and also warned the miscreants to encounter serious consequences if they did not bar from challenging the writ of the state.

The nation including his staunch critics appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan for his speech, celebrities including Mahira Khan, Armeena Khan and Nadia Jamil also praised Imran Khan for being headstrong in the face of threat from protestors.

Parchi actor, Ali Rehman Khan said, Super impressed with @ImranKhanPTI’s address to the nation. To the point, making it clear that the government won’t be bullied by any fanatic.

Singer Quratulain Balouch said, “Justice is served with some hot sauce.”

Veteran actor Samina Peerzada also tweeted, she wrote, Angels are smiling today, Insaf zindabad, Pakistan paindabad.

Actress Mawra Hocane also tweeted in support of the Supreme Court on the verdict and vouched for Prime Minister Imran Khan. She further added she feels proud of being Pakistani.

Armeena Khan also lauded the PM Khan’s speech.
