PM Modi is a more popular global leader than President Trump: Study

According to a study published by communication firm Burson-Marsteller on Wednesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is more popular on social media platform, Facebook than President of United States of American Donald Trump. The study has placed Jordan’s Queen Rania at third place in terms of followers with 16 million followers.

Modi is by far the world’s most followed leader on social media and records 43.2 million followers on Facebook that is twice the 23.1 million followers of President Trump.

This also makes Narendra Modi the most popular leader of Asia since Facebook is more widely used than Twitter in Asia.

The study included 650 personal and institutional accounts of world leaders and head of countries since January 1, 2017.

President Donald Trump records total of 204.9 million likes, comments against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that record a total of 113.6 million interactions.

President Trump despite having a greater number of interactions stood next to Modi in popularity.

It also found that Trump on average posts five times a day on Facebook, which is more than double the number of posts from the Indian premier.

The study also highlighted a scanty number of world leaders that handle their social media themselves instead of giving over to a social media team.

New Zealand Jacinda Arden is the most loved personality on Facebook. She often goes live on Facebook from her office, home and car to interact with her people. The study found, pointing out that 14 percent of her interactions on the platform are love hearts sent by her followers.

She recently attracted global attention as she will soon be in the category of handful women Prime Ministers including Pakistan’s Benazir Bhutto who delivered a baby while being in office. Prime Minister Arden is seven-month pregnant currently.
