Prime Minister Imran Khan has lifted the ban from the entry of maid and servants in the elite clubs including Islamabad club and other public places in an attempt to overthrow elitism and colonial mindset.
Federal Interior Minister Shehryar Afridi in his tweet praised the decision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s instruction came a day after the meeting was held on human rights in Islamabad. PM Khan chaired the meeting that was attended by Federal Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari, Interior Minister Shehryar Afridi and PM’s Advisor on Commerce, Razzak Dawood.
Symbols of Elitism & colonial mindset will be removed. PMIK has ordered to remove the ban on entry of maids/servants in elite clubs i.e.starting from Isb club.
Interior Minister Shehryar Afridi shared a picture of a notice board from the Islamabad Club that prohibited the entry of maids/servants beyond a certain point. Afridi claimed it an outright disrespect that discriminated people in terms of color, wealth and social status.
He in his tweeted added that instead of disrespecting maids/servants and ‘aayas’ people should be thankful for them for carrying their weight and assisting them.

I guess the govt needs to abolish this system of underage maids. That is also imp and needs special attention. Anyone with underaged servants should be punished strictly in term of heavy fines etc

Other users, however, came up with further suggestions that included that the accompanying maid/servants should be given a voucher for food or meal at the same establishment where the elites are eating.
A sub-clause should have been added to this legislation where it required the employer to provide a voucher for food or a meal for the maid/servant at the same establishment where the elitists were eating.
