Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced Rs. 10 million in relief to the victims of the recent Dady fire tragedy. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah revealed the news while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
The Sindh CM said PM Shehbaz Sharif had announced to provide Rs. 10 million compensation for heirs of Dadu tragedy which is a good omen. Moreover, he admitted that the response to the tragedy was very slow and vowed to punish those responsible.
“I admit that the response was very slow and whoever is responsible [will be punished]. Our job is to provide immediate relief to people,” Murad Ali said.
Additionally, CM Murad said the Sindh government had formed the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the Mehar fire incident. As for the initiatives taken help the victims, CM Murad said the deputy commissioner and the local administration provided cooked food to the affected people while the Provincial Disaster Management Authority also provided “complete relief”.

Furthermore, the provincial government would rebuild all the houses damaged by the fire and will also provide compensation for the lives and animals lost.
Dadu fire tragedy
At least eight children and a woman lost their lives and several others were injured after a fire erupted at night in Dadu district, reducing more than 50 houses to ashes.
The residents claimed that more than 160 livestock had also burnt to death, while some crops were also damaged, along with other valuables.

The incident sparked criticism for Sindh’s provincial government as residents claimed that they made various calls to the authorities concerned. However, the fire tenders did not reach the spot.
The local residents also protested against the lack of apathy of the government. They demanded the Sindh Chief Minister take notice of the indifferent attitude of the local administration.

PM Shehbaz to take strict action
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday directed concerned authorities to conduct a thorough probe into the blaze that engulfed two villages in the Dadu district.
PM Shehbaz told the district government to extend all possible support for the rehabilitation of the victim families.
“The whole nation shares the grief of the families who have lost their dear ones,” he said.
He also instructed the district administration to take solid measures to avert the occurrence of such incidents in the future.
