PM Shehbaz condoles death of Indian PM Modi’s mother

Taking to Twitter, Shehbaz Sharif said there is no greater loss than losing one's mother. He then conveyed his condolences to Prime Minister Modi. 

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has condoled the death of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi.

Taking to Twitter, Shehbaz Sharif said there is no greater loss than losing one’s mother. He then conveyed his condolences to Prime Minister Modi.

“There is no greater loss than losing one’s mother. My condolences to Prime Minister Modi on the passing away of his mother,” Shehbaz Sharif said.

Modi’s mother, Heeraben, died at the age of 100 on Friday morning. She breathed her last at around 3.30 am. She was admitted to U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad due to health issues, the Gujarat government said on Thursday.

In a heartfelt note, the Indian prime minister wrote, “In Maa I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”

In another tweet, the prime minister wrote, “When I met her on her 100th birthday, she said one thing, which is always remembered that is work with intelligence, live life with purity.”

World leaders convey condolences to Modi

Following the death of Prime Minister Modi’s mother, world leaders have been sending their condolences to the Indian premier.

Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal also expressed grief on PM’s mother’s death, he wrote on Twitter, “I’m deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of Smt. Heeraba Modi, loving mother of Prime Minister of India. At this hour of grief, I express heartfelt condolences to PM Modi ji and the family members and pray for eternal peace of the departed soul.”

Japanese PM Fumio Kishida also wrote a condolence note for PM Modi’s mother: “PM Modi  @narendramodi, I would like to express my deepest condolences for the passing of your beloved mother. May her soul rest in peace.”
