PML-N calls out PTI for taking down Pakistan’s flag

According to the details by PML-N, PTI amid preparations for its power show in Lahore today took down Pakistan's flags and replaced them with PTI flags.

PML-N has accused PTI of taking down Pakistan’s flags and replacing them with their own party flags despite Sunday being the 75th independence day for the country.

According to the details by PML-N, PTI amid preparations for its power show in Lahore today took down Pakistan’s flags and replaced them with PTI flags along the road leading up to the venue for the rally. Video of men taking down the flags are also making the rounds on social media.

PML-N leader and Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, while reacting to the news, criticized PTI Chairman Imran Khan by mocking his speeches on not being slaves anymore.

“The PTI provincial government took down the national flag displayed on the streets on the occasion of Independence Day in Lahore and installed its own party flags. ‘Are we slaves that we wave the national flag?’ Captain’s New Logic,” Ahsan Iqbal tweeted.

“The national flag is the greatest symbol of freedom. Hoisting the flag of an anarchist party by removing it is not only an insult to the national flag but also an attack on the ideology of freedom,” PML-N’s official Twitter account wrote while sharing the video.

PTI power show

Interestingly, journalist Imran Riaz Khan hit back at PML-N and claimed that PTI did not take down Pakistan’s flags, instead, hoisted them higher.

“Go to Lahore and see the flags of Pakistan taken down and placed above the flags of PTI. Riddance on their politics and cheap intellectualism,” Imran Riaz Khan tweeted.

Meanwhile, PTI’s official Twitter account shared a video from the venue showing Pakistan’s flag hoisted above the PTI flags.
