PML-N’s plans of bringing in a no-trust motion against the government appear very serious indeed. Media sources are now saying that PML-N will hold a meeting with estranged PTI leader Jahangir Tareen.
According to media reports, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif reportedly made contact with Jahangir Tareen, and the two leaders are expected to meet soon. Furthermore, the two leaders maintained contact for the last several days. As a result, Shehbaz Sharif is likely to meet Tareen within a few days.
To clarify, the Opposition is gearing up for an intense political battle against the PTI government. Both PML-N and PPP decided to oust Imran Khan by moving a no-trust motion against him. For this, the Opposition intends to bring the Jahangir Tareen Group and the government alliances on its side.

Recently, PML-N also contacted PML-Q, an ally of the PTI government. There are reports that Shehbaz Sharif will meet PML-Q’s Chaudhry brothers soon. Important to note, the PPP supreme leader and former president of Pakistan already met PML-Q leadership. However, he failed to win their support for a no-trust motion.

Sources said PML-Q refused to become a part of any “political misadventure” against the PTI government. On the other hand, PML-Q agreed with Zardari over the government’s inability to control inflation. PML-Q also questioned PML-N’s seriousness over the no-trust move since PML-N never directly approached PML-Q for support. However, now Shehbaz Sharif will meet PML-Q to change the perception.
MQM-P rejects PML-N’s no trust plan?
On the other hand, a delegation of MQM-P met with PML-N on Tuesday. MQM-P is another ally of the PTI government but in Karachi.
The PML-N delegation including Shehbaz Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal, Saad Rafique, Shah Mohammad Shah, Miftah Ismail, and Maryam Aurangzeb, welcomed the MQM delegation which included the party’s Senior Deputy Convener Aamir Khan and former Karachi Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar.
Sources told media that the MQM-P also refused to support the opposition’s no-trust move plan against the incumbent government.

While both PML-Q and MQM-P refused to join the Opposition, the government allies agree that inflation has sky-rocketed and people are suffering.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, MQM-P leader Amir Khan said MQM-P also has reservations regarding the rising inflation.
“Inflation has become unbearable and a solution needs to be found as soon as possible,” he asserted.
Pakistan’s general inflation measured by Consumer Price Index (CPI) clocked in at 24-month peak of 13pc in January as prices of almost all commodities and utilities maintained a growing trend.
