The Rawalpindi Police has arrested three employees of a restaurant on Murree Expressway, Islamabad on Sunday for allegedly assaulting a tourist family. Meanwhile, according to the reports, a case has been registered against 10 employees of the restaurant.
A case has been registered against the employees, including the manager of the restaurant, which is a franchise of an international coffee chain. The video of the incident went viral on social media over the weekend that showed restaurant staff allegedly beating the tourist family visiting Murree.

The Rawalpindi Police posted the images of the main suspects in the case on their social media. Police claim that arrested employees were the main culprits. The officials added that both the parties lodged complaints against each other. The officials said that action will be taken against both parties. The officials added that nobody is allowed to harass, assault, or threaten another person.

The Rawalpindi Police and Punjab Government came into action after the video of restaurant employees manhandling the family went viral on social media raising questions on the safety and security of the tourists visiting these places.
According to a social media post, the altercation started when the tourist family used the washroom of the restaurant. A verbal fight soon turned violent when both sides physically attacked each other, with a man pleading that his wife was pregnant.

A Rawalpindi Police spokesperson said that they have obtained the CCTV footage of the restaurant and the case will be probed on merit. Ali Tauqeer, a member of the tourist family, while talking to the media, stated that the restaurant staff started beating him and his family including women following a trivial argument, reported The Express Tribune.

Tauqeer suffered minor injuries and was treated at the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital. He said he visited the restaurant for a dinner with family on Saturday night. The restaurant staff and the family had a heated argument followed by a physical assault. The tourist said that his wife shouted for help but no one came for aid.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has also given orders to the authorities to take strict actions against the culprits.
