As the much anticipated no-confidence motion nears, political parties of Pakistan are making their way to Islamabad for their rallies. Needless to say, Islamabad will brim with intense political activity over the weekend.
PTI is currently making arrangements for its historic 27th public gathering. To clarify, videos are going viral on social media of PTI caravans from across the country heading towards Islamabad. According to the latest details, the caravans from Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan have entered Islamabad.
Those who led different groups of the caravan included Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh, PTI’s parliamentary party leader Khurram Sher Zaman, MNA Aftab Siddiqui, and MPAs Saeed Afridi and Shahnawaz Jadoon. Meanwhile, GB Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid led the PTI caravan from Gilgit.

Regarding this, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that the opposition should get ready and keep their nerves strong after witnessing a huge crowd of PTI supporters.

Important to note, PTI leaders have been urging supporters to join the public rally in support of PM Khan, who on Thursday, invited the nation to participate in the PTI’s March 27 power show at Islamabad’s Parade Ground, calling on the people to join him in “standing against evil”.
Images coming from GB, Sindh, AJK KP and Balochistan .. then tomorrow from Punjab proves how only Imran Khan is the true national leader of Pakistan, while other parties have to rely on just one province. Massive rallies coming into Isb from every corner! #چلو_چلو_عمران_کے_ساتھ

Opposition moving towards Islamabad
While the PTI prepares for its power show, in response, JUI-F will also hold a public gathering on March 28th, a day after. However, the venue is different. Islamabad’s local administration allowed PTI to hold its rally in the Parade Ground while allotting the H-9 plot to JUI-F.
The convoy for JUI-F’s Mehngai March will travel from Sindh and Balochistan to Islamabad. According to the latest media reports, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s son will lead the party convoy from Dera Ismail Khan.

Similarly, PML-N will also begin its “Mehengai Mukao March” from today. The PML-N caravan, led by Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Sharif, will depart from Model Town later today. The PML-N leaders will address a press conference before the march will leave Lahore for the federal capital city. The JUI-F and PML-N caravan will join together and they will move towards Islamabad.
Due to all the parties moving towards Islamabad, there are concerns that the Opposing sides may come face to face, leading to violent confrontations. Even PPP had reservations regarding the rallies, even though it is also a part of the no-confidence campaign against PM Khan. Senior PPP leader and secretary-general Farhatullah Babar urged the Opposition to reconsider its plan to hold a rally in Islamabad.
As the political parties move to Islamabad for their gatherings, the local police issued a traffic plan for the capital. Furthermore, in today’s press conference, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid warned the Opposition against any sit-ins. He said that the government cannot allow anyone to stage a sit-in in Islamabad, reiterating that the army can be called in in the event of any misadventure.
