Nomination papers were filed by prominent political figures in Punjab, setting the stage for intriguing electoral battles. Key contenders include PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, and PTI founder Imran Khan.
In NA-130, Bilal Yasin, former PML-N MNA, collected nomination papers for Nawaz Sharif, while PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif obtained papers for various constituencies, including NA-123 and Punjab Assembly seats in Lahore.

Despite uncertainty about his eligibility, Imran Khan’s nomination papers were filed for NA-89 in Mianwali. Javed Iqbal, father of PTI’s Sanam Javed, announced her candidacy against Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.
IPP’s Khurram Hameed Rokhari will contest NA-89 against Imran Khan, with competition from PPP’s Nawab Amir Muhammad Khan and PML-N’s Ubaidullah Shadi Khel.
IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan aims to contest from NA-147 Khanewal and potentially a National Assembly seat in Lahore. NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and son Khurram Pervaiz filed nominations, while PTI’s Parvez Elahi and Khawaja Asif seek seats in NA-69 and NA-71, respectively.

In Jhang, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan, and Ghulam Bibi Bharwana filed papers for NA-108, with multiple candidates for NA-109 and NA-110.
PPP’s Nadeem Afzal Chan collected papers for NA-82 and 86 in Sargodha, and PML-N’s Ataullah Tarar aims for NA-77, Gujranwala.
Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will not contest, but his son Nader plans to run independently in NA-51, Murree, following pressure from constituents.
