According to the details, PPP had convened a meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) to table a resolution against Aitzaz Ahsan, seeking to suspend his membership and issuing him a show-cause notice.

PPP Co-Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari gave the directives for strict action against Aitzaz Ahsan for his explosive remarks against COAS Bajwa.

Following Aitzaz Ahsan’s remarks, PPP immediately distanced itself from the recent statement of its veteran leader Aitzaz Ahsan, saying that it was his personal view and does not reflect the party policy.

The senior leadership of the PPP also conveyed their serious reservations to the top party leadership, vis a vis the statement of Ahsan. Aitzaz Ahsan’s explosive remarks

Senior barrister and PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan has accused Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Bajwa of allegedly facilitating the acquittal of the Sharif family.

While talking to the media, Aitzaz Ahsan – who is known for making hard-hitting statements – made a direct hit on the COAS. Aitzaz Ahsan said COAS Bajwa removed the charges against PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Maryam Nawaz, even though the charges were very clear.

“Bajwa has committed a huge crime by letting them go,” Aitzaz Ahsan said while not holding back. Aitzaz Ahsan also said that he believes that all this is happening because of the recent NAB amendments.

Aitzaz Ahsan’s statement went viral on social media due to the direct attack on COAS Bajwa. Pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Army has urged politicians on multiple occasions to not drag the army into political matters. Moreover, COAS Bajwa himself said that the armed forces have distanced themselves from politics and want to remain so.
