PPP leader and Federal Minister for Water Resources Khursheed Shah has criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for skipping parliament sessions. The PPP leader stressed the need for political leaders to sit together and find solutions to problems facing Pakistan.
While talking to private media, Khursheed Shah compared Shehbaz Sharif with Imran Khan, lamenting that he also does not attend parliament sessions.
“Like former prime minister Imran Khan, Shehbaz Sharif does not attend sessions of the parliament,” Khursheed Shah said.

“We have not given due respect to parliament. The former prime minister also did not attend its sessions. Today our brother prime minister also does not turn up in the parliament,” he added.
To clarify, former Prime Minister Imran Khan used to be heavily criticized for not attending parliamentary sessions. In fact, his absence from a critical parliamentary meeting in 2021 created quite the controversy, with the then Opposition leaders lambasting him for not attending.
The PPP leader urged all political leaders to shun their differences and sit together to find the best possible solutions to the problems confronting the country.
“We have to sit together to save the country which is under the burden of heavy debts and unprecedented inflation,” he said.
Shehbaz Sharif does not have time?
It is unclear why Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif does not attend parliamentary sessions. Perhaps, being the prime minister of a country, he has a busy schedule.
Earlier, he received a permanent exemption from attending court hearings in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case. An accountability court approved Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s plea for a permanent exemption from personal appearance.
According to details, the Prime Minister appeared before the court and stated that he has always ensured his presence in court hearings. However, now he has a huge responsibility as the prime minister and emphasized his busy schedule.

“The purpose of filing the petition is that as prime minister of the country I have a lot of responsibility on my shoulders,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
“There are times when I have to travel abroad, meet with the officials of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and foreign dignitaries,” he further added.
