PPP wants DG ISI to probe attack on Aseefa Bhutto Zardari

According to Bilawal Bhutto, the drone camera striking Aseefa Ali Zardari was an intended assault. In a letter written to DG ISI Lt. Gen Nadeem Anjum, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked him to investigate the matter.

PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked DG ISI to probe the drone camera attack on sister Aseefa Zardari. In a letter written to DG ISI Lt. Gen Nadeem Anjum, he has asked him to investigate the matter and bring the fact to light concerning the drone camera striking Aseefa Ali Zardari.

The incident happened on 4th March when a flying drone camera of a private TV channel accidentally hit the face of Aseefa Bhutto Zardari during the anti-government protest in Khanewal. Aseefa suffered minor injuries on the face. The video of the incident immediately went viral on social media. She was immediately given first aid and then moved to Mukhtar A. Sheikh Hospital in Multan. She got stitches on her face which Bilawal described as “deep lacerations”.

PPP General Nayyar Bokhari said that he has written a letter to DG ISI requesting him to probe the matter.

An intended assault?

The excerpts of the letter read, “drone camera of a local TV network flew suspiciously into [PPP} Chairman BBZ’s and targeted his sister, injuring her substantially”. Aseefa also voiced her suspicion if the incident was an “intended assault”.

Bilawal Bhutto in his statement had said that the camera belonged to the TV channel that has been critical of PPP and its party policies. Meanwhile, the channel administration asserted that the incident was a ‘mishap’ and ‘unfortunate’ as the cameraman lost control of the drone camera. Consequently, the drone camera struck Aseefa. The incident was registered at Khanewal police station.
