Precise strategy in play to weaken Army & create anarchy: Fawad Ch

Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, warned against a precise strategy to weaken and divide the Pakistan Army, which will push the country towards anarchy.

Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, on Friday, warned the nation against the strategy of targeting the army to create discord between institutions and weaken the armed forces.

In a series of tweets, Fawad Chaudhry argued that the armed forces are being “targeted under a precise strategy.”

Bid to Weaken Pak Army

The Federal Minister said, “The matter is not limited to Pervez Musharraf, but in fact, the Pakistan Army is being targeted with a precise strategy.”

“First the army and ISI were involved in the Tehreek-i-Labbaik sit-in case, and then the extension of the post of army chief was turned into a controversy and now an honored former Army Chief and President has been humiliated.”

Fawad Chaudhry said that the chain of events is now no longer limited to legalities but unveils a specific strategy of creating anarchy in the country. He said, “The sequence of events is no longer limited to a judicial or legal matter, but indicates a lot more.”

He warned, “If the institute of the army is weakened or divided, then it will be difficult to escape anarchy.” The Federal Minister noted that Army Chief General Bajwa and the current military setup has supported the democratic institutions, however, this “support should not be regarded as a weakness.”

These tweets have emerged in the wake of the widely criticized verdict of a special court in the high treason case against former President Pervez Musharraf.

The verdict, authored by Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, Justice Waqar Ahmad, stated, “We direct the law enforcement agencies to strive their level best to apprehend the fugitive/convict and to ensure that the punishment is inflicted as per law and if found dead, his corpse be dragged to the D-Chowk, Islamabad, Pakistan and be hanged for 03 days.”

The verdict of the court has been regarded as a controversial and politically motivated judgment, and Justice Nazar Akbar of the Sindh High Court has expressed dissent while Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court has agreed with Justice Waqar Ahmad.

The government has announced its decision to file a reference against the “scandalous” verdict issued by Justice Seth, and the Peshawar High Court Chief Justice has come under fire for his inhumane judgment.
