President Mamnoon Hussain hosts Iftar for orphans to renew their hope of a better future

On Thursday, President Mamnoon Hussain hosted an Iftar reception for orphans in the Presidential House,  ‘Aiwan-e-Sadar,’ in Islamabad.  In his speech, he advised the orphans not to consider themselves inferior to anyone. He encouraged the children to excel in education. President Hussain stated that they have a strong role to play in human development.

Country Director Turk Cooperation and Coordination Mahmat Emre and Chairman Pakistan Orphan Care Forum Mian Abdul Shakoor were also present at the Iftar reception.

President Mamnoon Hussain lauded the Parliament’s decision to mark 15th Ramazan, the ‘Day of Orphans’ in Pakistan, just like other Islamic countries.

He stated that the objective of celebrating the day was to renew the spirit, at the national level, that orphan children are the most valuable asset of the country with whom the country has high hopes from.

He praised the efforts of institutions supporting the orphan children. He further stated that Pakistani society and government are aware of their responsibilities towards orphan children and are taking all the measures necessary for their welfare.

The president said orphan children are as important as every other individual of the society. Like other children, they also have equal right to pursue their goals of higher education and development.

He commented that history has witnessed great leaders who were orphans. President Mamnoon said these leaders, through their hard work and effort, changed the world. He said the Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was an example. He asked the children to study his life and learn new avenues of development.

He urged the students to remain confident and advised them to concentrate on their studies and develop good and ambitious characteristics in their personality that will pave the way for them towards a distinctive stature in the world.

President Mamnoon Hussain prayed for the students. He wished prosperity, success and a good life to them.
