Prime Minister Madbouly urged voters to actively participate in the electoral process, underlining the significance of exercising their constitutional right. With a large turnout reported across all governorates, the National Elections Authority has acknowledged the enthusiastic response from the electorate.

Incumbent President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is seeking a third term in power, facing competition from three other candidates: Abdel-Sanad Yamama, Hazem Omar, and Farid Zahran. Each candidate represents different political ideologies, adding an element of political diversity to the election.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Justice Minister Omar Marwan expressed their views on the election as a national duty and responsibility. Voting Logistics

Voting is spread over three days, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with results scheduled to be announced on December 18. The extended voting period aims to accommodate citizens and encourage widespread participation.

Symbolic Polling Station

In El-Arish, northern Sinai, a school named after a deceased soldier serves as a polling station. The site, adorned with pictures of victims of attacks, highlights the significance of the military’s role in maintaining security in the region. Local official Leila Awad expressed gratitude towards El-Sisi for securing the area and emphasised the importance of voting for the leader who has brought stability.
