Print Goddess Lakshmi on currency to improve value: BJP’s secrets to economic boon

BJP ministers are on a continuous spree of whimsical assertions and acts & this time, advice to print the picture of Goddess Lakshmi on Indian current to improve economy comes from a senior BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy.

BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy and Rajya Sabha MP floated the idea of inscribing the picture of Goddess Lakshmi on banknotes to improve the performance of Indian currency.

He expressed his idea while speaking to reporters on Tuesday night after addressing a lecture in Madhya Pradesh.

He expressed his view in response to the question on the picture of Lord Ganesha printed on Indonesian currency.

Swamy said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi can answer this question. I am in favor (of this). Lord Ganesha removes obstacles. I rather say that a picture of Goddess Lakshmi (on currency notes) may improve the condition of Indian currency. Nobody should feel bad about this.”

BJP leaders became a laughing stock on social media on his bizarre suggestion to improve the economy of India. Indian social media users mocked BJP leaders for whimsical advice.

Taking a dig, social media users asserted that the BJP government is determined to destroy the economy of India. 

They recalled the strange acts of BJP leaders in the past that shocked and amused people. 

Offer of Citizenship to Pervez Musharraf

Meanwhile, Subramanian Swamy is the same BJP leader who offered former General Pervez Musharraf Indian citizenship under CAA following Pakistan Supreme Court’s verdict in the high treason case. 

A day after the verdict on 18th December, Swamy extended the offer of Indian citizenship to Pervez Musharraf.

Swamy, jeering at former army chief Musharraf, asserted that India will give fast-track citizenship to him under controversial CAB since he is born in India’s city Daryanganj and is being persecuted in Pakistan currently.

Rafale Puja

Meanwhile, Twitter users recalled a Rafale Puja of Indian Defence Minister.

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh left the millions of Twitter users amused after his video of performing a religious ritual (Puja) before Rafale jet in France circulated on social media.

Indian minister Singh was snapped performing Shashtra Puja reportedly for the protection of Rafale jets and securing it from the evil/bad eye as per Indian traditions.

He performed the Shashtra Puja at the Merignac airbase near the city of Bordeaux in France, where he received the first of the French-made Rafale fighter jets.

Shastra Pooja-known as Ayudha Pooja in South India- in which instruments, tools, and weapons are worshipped, is usually performed in Dussehra.

His religious ritual attracted attention on social media with many praising him for sticking to his religious belief.

But memesters on social media had a field day posting their wittiest comments on the home minister’s decision to offer coconut, place lemons under tires and draw the symbol of ‘Om’ on the Rafale jet.

A few netizens raised pertinent questions of enforcing Hindu traditions for a state-level activity when India is a secular country. 

The minister even shared the pictures on his Twitter account and wrote that worshipping weapons on Vijayadashami has been an Indian tradition.

BJP’s whimsical statements

Besides, there is a long list of BJP ministers amusing assertions, leaving them with eggs on the face several times on social media.

After claims of cow dung being the cure to cancer and absorb nuclear radiations, a BJP MP recently claimed the Sanskrit language is useful to treat Cholesterol and Diabetes. This has left doctors in dilemma, who are now confused about their hard-earned medical degrees.

BJP legislatures bizarre statements mostly defy the scientific, historic and religious facts. Such statements have irritated physicians, doctors, and scientists alike in the past. Moreover,  these whimsical statements have not deterred the advocates of BJP and RSS.
