Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar confirmed on Thursday that he had met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Speaking to journalists at the Adiala Jail courtroom, Barrister Gohar acknowledged the meeting after previously denying it. He explained that during the rare discussions with the COAS, all of PTI’s demands and concerns were directly conveyed to General Munir.

He described the direct negotiations with the establishment as a positive step towards addressing ongoing issues. “Ali Amin Gandapur and I had a meeting with COAS Munir, during which we presented PTI’s priorities and concerns,” Gohar stated.
PTI founder Imran Khan also confirmed the meeting, stating that Gohar had met the army chief in Peshawar. Khan noted that the party had long been advocating for dialogue with the establishment.

Sources revealed that Gohar was transported to Peshawar via helicopter for the meeting, which coincided with COAS Munir’s visit to the city. During his visit, the army chief met with top provincial political leaders and emphasized, “If there is a state, there is politics. Without a state, there is nothing.”
