Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan reiterated the party’s demand for a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9. Speaking to the media after meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Gohar emphasized Imran’s satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s order on reserved seats. Imran also discussed the Form 47 issue and urged the judiciary to address Election Commission of Pakistan’s petitions.
During the press conference, concerns were raised about the whereabouts of CCTV footage from the May 9 event, prompting the call for a judicial commission to investigate the matter. The PTI emphasized that Imran Khan had no intention of damaging relations with the United States, responding to queries about the recent meeting with US Ambassador Donald Blome.
ISPR’s Assertion and PTI’s Reaction
Earlier, Maj-Gen Ahmed Sharif, Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), asserted that “nothing was hidden about May 9,” rejecting claims of a false flag operation. He insisted that those responsible for the events must face legal consequences. In response, PTI’s spokesperson Raoof Hasan criticized ISPR’s statements, labeling them as contradictory and lacking rationale.

Hasan challenged ISPR’s assertions, calling for evidence and advocating for an independent judicial inquiry to determine culpability. He highlighted the need for transparency, emphasizing that the PTI was not involved in the events of May 9. Hasan further questioned ISPR’s claim regarding the percentage of votes received by PTI.
Demand for Judicial Transparency
The PTI, led by Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, emphasized the importance of a judicial commission to ensure transparency and accountability regarding the May 9 events. The party underscored its commitment to peaceful protest and called for the resolution of internal issues through legal channels.
As tensions escalate between PTI and ISPR, the demand for a comprehensive investigation grows stronger. PTI’s insistence on judicial scrutiny reflects its commitment to upholding democratic values and seeking justice for alleged wrongdoings. The outcome of this standoff remains uncertain as both parties navigate the complexities of political and legal landscapes.
