Government's Allegations Against Murad Saeed Dismissed by PTI, Barrister Saif Calls Claims Baseless

Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) denies the claims of the government that Murad Saeed has taken refuge in CM House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The federal government had claimed that Murad Saeed was hiding in Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House.

The KP Government spokesperson Barrister Saif denied the claims made by the government.

Speaking on the Geo News program “Naya Pakistan”, Barrister Saif said: “If they had seen Murad Saeed, they would have arrested him.” He asked why the government did not arrest Saeed if he was spotted during the Islamabad protest.

“I think, Murad Saeed was not there,” he added.

In response to another question, Barrister Saif claimed that the PTI protestors were unarmed. Saif asserted that the government opened straight fire on the protestors.

He was of the view that the government was misguiding the nation.

He further said that “PTI founder allowed us to stage a protest demonstration in Sangjani [area in Islamabad].

The accusation of the presence of Murad Saeed at CM House KPK was leveled by Information Minister Atta Tarar in a press conference. Responding to these allegations, PTI denied the presence of Murad Saeed at CM House KPK. PTI leader and former minister Murad Saeed is on the run following the May 9th riots.

Tarar even claimed that Saeed was seen leading a group of armed protestors. He denied the PTI’s accusations of killing its protestors and marchers in Islamabad.

Talking to a local media outlet, Barrister Saif questioned: “Why didn’t the federal government arrest Murad Saeed if they knew he was in Islamabad leading the march?” he asked. “How come that Murad Saeed fled, breaking through such a huge deployment of police and Rangers?”

He also accused the government of covering up the death and accusing Afghans of the violence which he said would further strain the relations with Afghanistan.
