PTI Jalsa featured in an upcoming Indian movie

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan remains a very popular politician in Pakistan despite being ousted two years ago in a vote of no confidence

One of PTI’s former power show Jalsa has featured in an upcoming Indian movie called ‘Ulajh’ starring Jhanvi Kapoor and Adil Hussain. Fans are now wondering if there is more to this storyline or this clip was just used to garner attention from across the border.

In the film, Janhvi plays the role of Suhana Bhatia, who is appointed as India’s youngest deputy high commissioner in Indian Foreign Services. The people around her believe that she only secured the position because of “nepotism.”

In the trailer, Roshan Mathew’s character can be seen pointing at Janhvi at a party. He says, “Surname ke ilaava iske paas aur hai kya? [What else does she have besides her surname?]” The plot thickens as the trailer reveals a “leak” in the system. Seconds later, we see Gulshan Devaiah abducting Janhvi and asking her for some “papers.”

Meanwhile, everyone at the Indian embassy in London is asked not to leave the building until the mole is found. Suspicion mounts as Janhvi’s whereabouts remain unknown for 24 hours. A blast occurs, and Roshan blames Janhvi for the entire situation. Meiyang Chang also labels Janhvi as a “spy” and “deshdrohi [traitor].”

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan remains a very popular politician in Pakistan despite being ousted two years ago in a vote of no confidence, and facing charges in several cases, ranging from corruption to treason.

In February, candidates backed by Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, who were forced to run as independents, won the most seats in Pakistan’s general elections, even after facing a widespread clampdown and alleged vote rigging by their opponents.

Now, days after a Supreme Court decision legally recognized the PTI as a party, therefore allowing it the most seats in Pakistan’s Parliament, the coalition government, headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, said it would seek to ban the party outright.
