PTI mocks Pakistan’s new federal cabinet

Taking to Twitter, former Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Haider Zaidi highlighted the corruption charges against the new federal ministers.

As Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially forms his new cabinet, PTI leaders are criticizing his picks for federal ministers. Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s new cabinet finally took oath. As per details, 14 federal ministers are from PML-N, nine from PPP, four from JUI-F, two are from MQM-P and one belongs to Jamhoori Watan Party.

Reacting to the development, PTI leaders had a lot to say about the new federal ministers. Taking to Twitter, former Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Haider Zaidi highlighted the corruption charges against the new federal ministers. For instance, Shazia Marri presented a fake degree while participating in NA 235 elections. Now, Shazi Marri holds the portfolio of Benazir Income Support Programme. Ali Haider Zaidi also named more ministers who are either on a bail or have cases lodged against them.

“100% PML-N cabinet members on bail! Welcome to Purana Pakistan,” Ali Haider Zaidi tweeted.

Cabinet a registry of central jail: Fawad Chaudhry

Similarly, former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry too mocked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet. Owing to the corruption charges against the federal ministers, Fawad Chaudhry said the list of the new cabinet members looks like an attendance sheet for the Central Jail.

“Read the names of the cabinet. It seems that the attendance register of Central Jail has been registered. All the big dacoits have joined the cabinet,” Fawad Chaudhry tweeted.

Meanwhile, former SAPM on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill earlier made a direct hit at prime minister Shehbaz Sharif. To clarify, Shehbaz Sharif formed the federal cabinet a week after becoming the prime minister of Pakistan. The delay had certainly raised concerns. There were also many speculations on which political leader will receive which ministry.

“Heard Shehbaz Sharif kept the Ministry of Film and Drama for himself,” Dr. Shahbaz Gill tweeted.

Furthermore, social media users have also raised questions about the new federal ministers. For example, according to netizens, the appointment of Abdul Qadir as Federal Minister for the National Health Department is a downgrade. Previously, Dr. Faisal Sultan held the portfolio. He is a medical expert and is credited with impressively managing Pakistan’s Covid response.
