Prime Minister Imran Khan has reportedly expressed annoyance on his media team over its failure to bolster the positive image of the government in media. He believes the former media team falls short in disseminating PTI’s performance to the people. He expressed these views in a crucial meeting of the party’s core committee held on Friday.
The media team was subjected to immense criticism in the meeting which amounted to party members expressing a lack of confidence in it.
A new social media team under the leadership of the PTI's senior leader, Jahangir Khan Tareen, and that Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry and the former finance minister, Asad Umar, would be a part of the latest group.:2 https://t.co/7x0pnkwRAj

Assessing the performance of the media team, PM Khan noted that members of the team did not work efficiently and charged them of not highlighting some of the exceptional work done by PTI in its brief period of governance. Moreover, he asserted that one of the foremost tasks of the media team was to counter the negative propaganda thrust against the government on TV channels but they failed to do so.
Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to replace the members of the media team. The new team now includes Jahangir Tareen, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhry. Fawad Chaudhry has made a comeback at the helm of media management besides his second portfolio of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Before Firdaus Ashiq Awan, Chaudhry served as the Special Advisor to PM for Communication and Broadcasting.

The new media team is entrusted with a myriad of the task. They will review the policy of media and the party itself. They are responsible to directly communicate the matters with PM Khan. The new committee is expected to robustly challenge the anti-government propaganda in media and also to apprise people with the substantial achievements of the government.
They will also guide the government representatives and spokespersons on PTI’s narrative. The decision has been taken concerning the intense dissension directed on the government over an array of issues. Moreover, the new team is primarily entrusted with a task to consolidate the botched counter-narrative of the government, which is otherwise scattered and weak. Hence, fails to correctly convey the government’s achievements.
Now, Firdous Ashiq Awan has denied the formulation of a new team. She, however, did not give further clarification to the news, which is widely being circulated on social media.
This is a totally fake news and a completely concocted story published by Geo! Nothing of this sort was discussed in the meeting. And I would hope after this official denial by me, Geo news will retract this false story.https://t.co/cGTvylUZsc
