PTI has demanded the formation of a judicial commission to probe the recent statement of Federal Minister Khurram Dastgir who revealed the reasons for ousting former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
While speaking to a private media channel, Khurram Dastgir claimed that the then Opposition ousted Imran Khan because of his plan to extend his rule by having political opponents disqualified by 2022.
“Imran’s ‘fascist plans’ including the mass disqualification of opponents, had made it clear to the rival politicians that he would rule for the next 15 years,” Khurram Dastgir said.

Furthermore, the minister had maintained that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif – the incumbent prime minister – and other senior leadership of other parties would have been disqualified by the end of the year and left an open field for Imran Khan in the next general elections.

Currently, the Energy Minister is on a four-day visit to Iran to discuss the import of electricity. The minister was received by Iranian Deputy Minister of Energy for International Affairs Muhammad Ali Farahnakian at the Airport
PTI’s reaction
Needless to say, the claims are being considered a “confession” by PTI leaders. Pertinent to mention, the vote of no-confidence against Imran Khan has been a huge controversy in Pakistan. The incumbent coalition government maintains that it ousted Imran Khan due to Pakistan’s dire economic condition during his tenure. Interestingly, the economic condition of Pakistan has not improved under the new government.
Meanwhile, PTI resolutely maintains that ousting Imran Khan was a conspiracy hatched by the then Opposition in coalition with foreign powers. Therefore, PTI has demanded a judicial probe into Khurram Dastgir’s statements.

Former SAPM Dr. Shahbaz Gill, in a news conference, said that after the confession of Khurram Dastgir, not only did the reality of cipher come to the fore but he also exposed the imported government which admitted that they did not conspire to oust the PTI government for the betterment of the county but to secure NRO-2.
He also added that the “thieves” knew that Imran Khan had come close to their account and therefore they conspired and ganged up against him.
