PTV to air another Turkish serial, The Last Emperor: Abdul Hamid II

Following the historic success of Ertugrul Ghazi, PTV is bringing the story of a Sultan who has a true devotion to the love of the Prophet. The first episode of the show will premiere on 9th February.

Pakistan Television (PTV) is set to air another historic Turkish series, The Last Emperor: Abdul Hamid II. The series is a chronology of the life and events of the last Ottoman emperor. The series depicts the conspiracy and obstacles faced by the last and 34th Ottoman Emperor as the empire edged towards its downfall.

PTV shared the news on its official Twitter handle. “Following the historic success of Ertugrul Ghazi, PTV is bringing the story of a Sultan who has a true devotion to the love of the Prophet.” Calling it a “shining chapter in the history of the Muslim Ummah,” the channel shared that the period drama will air from Wednesday to Sunday at 7:55 PM, starting this week.

The first episode of the show will premiere on 9th February. The Turkish historical series stars Bülent İnal and Özlem Conker. The series depicts the events in 1896 and the battle that resulted in Ottoman victory after a long time, the ‘Greek War’. It also features the Zionist Congress and the issue of Palestinian lands. Another important series feature is the work of the Hijaz Railway and among other important historical events that will take place in the Payitaht Abdulhamid.

This is the third Turkish serial PTV would be broadcasting. Earlier, they had broadcasted record-breaking, Dirilis Ertugrul and Yunus Emre. This venture is expected to earn PTV huge profits.

Pakistan Television (PTV) had reportedly earned a huge profit of Rs.42 crore from the broadcast of the Turkish series, Dirilis Ertugrul. The state-run channel has earned immense profits from its telecast in Urdu dubbing. The state-run television had telecast the show on the recommendations of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The show began its broadcast in April-May in 2020 coinciding with the coronavirus lockdown in the country.
