Earlier, a similar resolution initiated by the PML-N was passed in the Balochistan Assembly, condemning PTI for allegedly undermining key institutions, including the judiciary, media, and economy. It demanded federal action to impose a ban on the party and hold its leadership accountable.
The Balochistan resolution also accused PTI of inciting violent demonstrations, including attacks on public and military properties during the May 9 protests last year, and criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for allegedly using state machinery to challenge federal authority. The opposition in the Balochistan Assembly staged a walkout in protest, denouncing the resolution as mistreatment of PTI.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also condemned PTI’s recent actions. In a high-level meeting on Thursday, he directed the formation of professional anti-riot forces to prevent future unrest. The prime minister accused PTI of spreading chaos through repeated marches on Islamabad and causing billions of rupees in economic losses. He called for a strategy to prevent similar incidents and ensure accountability.

Authorities reported arresting 1,151 protestors, including 64 Afghan nationals, and claimed to have seized weapons, ball bearings, and spiked clubs. PTI leader Salman Akram Raja, however, alleged that 20 people were killed during the protests, a claim denied by authorities.
